Video tearing/glitching caused by nvidia driver

This is essentially a follow-up to someone else’s question about Vsync and tearing here.

I had the same problem with nvidia-driver-595 and I finally switched from it to the open source nouveau driver.

Problem solved!

I’m pretty sure I had no problem with an earlier version of the proprietary driver, so let’s hope that NVIDIA fix whatever they broke.

Anyway, hope that helps someone else running NVIDIA hardware, cheers.
