    Hello

    Since several months I test NoMachine client/server. I noticed that on several Linux machines, it happens that the service is well enabled, even after a service restart, the server doesn’t answer to requests, even if it’s online on the network. what type of commands/logs should i transmit to debug it?

    Up to now, only a reboot of the machine magically solves the issues..

    Thank you

    Hi,

    how are you trying to connect? I.e are you starting the connection manually or are you trying to connect to a LAN-based machine (mDNS). Are you connecting through WAN? What is the exact error message you are seeing when trying to connect? A screenshot is useful in this case.

    Hello

    Sorry for the delay ;

    I try to connect via LAN, via the automatic detection tool

    I also tried with manual IPv4 and v6 directly from the connection shortcut

    What is bizarre:

    e.g 4 PC

    PC1 can connect to PC4

    PC2 and PC3 can’t, even if they can in SSH4/6

    PC1, 2 and 3 can all connect via Zerotier connection, but requires to all be connected to the Internet (Zerotier online VPN service)

    Even the Journalctl tool, focused on nxserver logs, doesn’t detect any incoming connection to PC4 when PC2-3 try to connect, in “auto”, v4 or v6 manual connection.

    For the “auto”, it’s just the discovery feature that detects nx devices on the LAN

    For Zerotier and v6 I use well the scope, eg :

    fe80::b342:b404:5149:da01%zt4hopaunx

    ..depending on the output number of the scope of the ZT or LAN network card. Strange, as this issue affect both Win11/Linux after several days (more than a week) of uptime, but sometimes just after waking up after a first “pm-suspend”

    I admit I never saw a so random issue on remote desktop tools.

    Thank you

    Just to be sure : does NoMachine listen on all NIC or only on one at a time?
    When I enable the Zerotier, the LAN wlp2s0 doesn’t answer at all to incoming connection, while Zerotier works perfect, even if it works on ssh (via %wlp2s0)

    Hi, just so it’s clear for us, if you take out Zerotier completely, are you able to connect from PCs 2 and 3 to PC 4 at all? We’ll check out ZT again in any case.

    In the meantime, what you could try is, in the server.cfg file, to set the IP address which has to be broadcast by uncommenting the following key:

    #
    # Specify the network interface where the NX service will be bound.
    # Populate the field with an IP address or a domain name.
    #
    #NXdListenAddress “”

    Restart the nxserver after making the changes.
