I have setup a Debian 9 VM in Google Cloud Compute Engine.
Installed Mate Desktop and NoMachine (nomachine_6.0.66_2_amd64.deb).
Accessing from my local Debian box, configured similarly.
Everything is working fine, except Alt-tab (In full-screen, keyboard-grabbed, on the remote) is not working to switch away from some apps.
Namely – Chrome and Chromium – They seems to hog the foreground as though ‘Always on top’ is set (which it isn’t)
Everything else seems to work fine.
This is a fundamental problem with any app/desktop that would surely be quickly addressed.
So, I am wondering if this could be some bizarre compatibility issue with NoMachine on the remote.
Could it be?
Chrome certainly does some wacky rendering things that could throw a spanner in the works…
