Using the free version of NoMachine 6.6.8 on Windows 10 and Fedora 29 (Gnome/wayland on the server).

I’m seeing a blank NoMachine window on the Windows 10 system when I try to connect to the Fedora 29 system.

In nxserver.log I’m seeing errors like this:

2019-05-05 13:42:00 776.526 32046 NXNODE   ERROR! NXClientMonitor: Can’t create directory, nxclient –monitor failed to start.

    2019-05-05 13:42:00 776.564 32046 NXNODE   WARNING! NXClientMonitor: NXClientMonitor: NXClient –monitor could not be started. Can’t send’NX> 990 MONITOR ON type=desktop ‘.

Not clear what directory is trying to be created or where, in the event this is a permissions problem.  Logs from the fedora box are attached.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Chris

    Hello

This looks like a known bug described in:

    https://www.nomachine.com/TR04Q09228

It will be fixed in the upcoming release.

In the meantime you can disable Wayland as an workaround to keep the connection to your local session available as suggested in the same report.
