I have for quite some time been using the “lightweightmode” to ensure that my small and colored fonts always shows up with pixel-perfect rendering. This has worked very well until recently (seems like the problems started with the 5.1.7 release, but I’m not sure).
I often can work for quite some time with perfect rendering (picture 1), but then all of a sudden the rendering switches over and displays blurry fonts (picture 2). It is hard to tell what causes this, but for example changing the desktop background seem to always trigger this rendering ‘modeswitch’. If I logout from the desktop session and start a new virtual desktop session, all is ok again.
I’m using Fedora 22 with Xfce (running the latest release 5.1.22 on both server and client). I have a standard configuration on the server side, with only added configuration for starting Xfce virtual desktop sessions and also lightweightmode turned on in node.cfg:
