Things I’ve tried: disabling hardware accel, and right clicking the player icon and setting HighDPI to application

I’ve also tried manually setting to:

H264 = no difference

VP8 = no difference

MJPEG = black screen

side by side with [removed] you can see how blurry the text is, its really hard on the eyes. I set both [removed] and NoMachine windows to the exact same size so comparisons were fair.

Any ideas ?

Hi, can you tell us what scaling settings are configured on the system?

I uploaded a short video showing the difference between [removed] and NoMachine showing there isnt a noticable lag difference over a 50/10mbps cellular link, ping time is around 120ms. NoMachine has some other advantages I was hoping to take advantage of, like USB redirect, nothing high speed, mostly my yubikey.

Try setting the view to 1:1 (viewport) in Display settings of NoMachine. You can also find more information about scaling options in NoMachine here: https://kb.nomachine.com/AR02M00835.
