Can I use NoMachine to connect a RHEL desktop to my Ubuntu laptop when both computers are behind NAT firewalls and both have non-routable IP addresses? Normally this requires a publicly available server in between the two machines, and I don’t see anything like that in the NoMachine documentation.
I’ve looked at Cloud Server and it seems to require that my remote (desktop) computer be publicly available. (I don’t want to use a web browser any way.)
Can I do this with NoMachine?
Yes, that can be done. NoMachine automatically maps the port on the router and shows the IP address to connect to. Here you can find a step by step with screenshots (see the Using NoMachine for remote access to a computer over the internet section).

Note that all this will work even more smoothly when we will release the NoMachine Network Service (or NoMachine Anywhere, we are still debating what name is the best). With this service the user will not have to care about anything.

Your solution won’t work with a corporate firewall. They will not open any port for this purpose, nor will they expose my workstation via a port. Also, my workstation doesn’t have a public IP address.
Other vendors in this space (e.g. TeamViewer, ScreenConnect) have a public server for this purpose. Do you have a solution using a publicly available server?
