Cannot find X servers running on this machine

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5

rpm:

nomachine-enterprise-server-evaluation_4.3.24_2_x86_64.rpm

use:

/usr/NX/bin/nxserver –status

wrong info:

NX> 161 Enabled service: nxserver.
NX> 162 WARNING: Cannot find X servers running on this machine.
NX> 162 WARNING: Connections to the physical display are not possible.
NX> 161 Enabled service: nxd.

why?

it’s telling us that nxserver was not able to find or access the local X server, and make it available.

If there is a working X server, then please enable logs in server and node configuration file, restart nxserver, check the
status once again after few seconds and send to us whole var/log directory.

Additional output of the command:  ps awwxo ‘ppid,pid,comm,args’ would be helpful.

The logs can be sent to issues[at]nomachine[dot]com.

Hello

I have the same problem: nxserver –status tells me that it cannot find X servers running.

However I can connect and start a new virtual desktop session just fine.

Still confusing though? Any solutions?

Warnings about missing local X server are nothing to worry if you are running NoMachine on a headless machine.

However if a local X server is running it means that for some reason it cannot be found and we have to investigate issue.
