Can’t close notification when in rootless mode

When I log in, I get a notification in the upper right corner of the screen from the admins.

When I’m using a virtual desktop, I can click OK or the X in the notification to make it go away.

But when I’m in rootless mode and bring up just a terminal, the notification still appears in the upper right corner of the screen but clicking OK or X doesn’t close it.

What am I doing wrong?

Here is a screen shot.  This is in the upper right corner of my monitor.   Clicking on the X or the OK button does nothing….
