NoMachine 6.9.2, Windows 7 SP1, local and remote
I want to share a local drive, but not my entire drive, so I did
C:\> SUBST X: C:\XFER
I also put that in my registry under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run so it’s available after a reboot.
The X: drive shows up in Windows Explorer. However, when I go to share this drive in NX, it is not available. Is there some difficulty in sharing SUBST’d drives?
One of the main reasons I want to use SUBST is fear that, if I share my entire C: drive, and it appears as a C folder on the remote desktop, and I delete that folder, it might start deleting my local C: drive. Is that fear well founded? (I’d test myself that but I currently don’t have any drives that I’m willing to risk.)
