I am running NoMachine on a Linux Host (Mint 17.3) connecting to a Windows machine running Windows 7 Japanese.  When I try to input Japanese on the Windows machine, the key sequence to toggle the IME (zenkaku) switches the Linux host to Japanese and sends garbage to the Windows machine.

How do I switch the Japanese input on/off on the Windows machine via NoMachine?

Without the ability to perform Japanese input on the remote Windows machine, NoMachine is essentially functionally worthless.

(Yes, I did search on NoMachine Japanese input.  Nothing of use.)

Hi. You’ve two options: use the hankaku/zenkaku toggle key on your keyboard, which we support correctly starting from version 5.1.40, or switch not only the input on the client, but also on the server. If you use a key combination to change the IME on Linux, the selected IME doesn’t propagate to the server.

A small addendum. I was talking about Hankaku/Zenkaku toggle key but indeed the rule applies to any IME switching: you must switch the IME also on Windows if you want keycodes correctly translated.
