For starters, here’s my config:
Server is Mint 16 (it says Ubuntu 13.10 on boot) in VirtualBox, both the VM and VirtualBox itself are fully up-to-date. NoMachine version 4.2.25_1_amd64. I installed it with dpkg and that’s literally it. I did nothing more. My desktop is, ehm, I don’t know really – it’s the default thing that comes with Mint.
Client is Windows 7 x64, fully up-to-date. NoMachine version 4.2.25. Installed, default options.
I just made a connection to my VM with all default options. Connected, pressed to “Yes” button to accept the server’s fingerprint, and done. Connected. But with a black screen. I fiddled with the video options to no avail. For some reason the quality was set to 1:4, which seems odd, but “resetting” it to 1:1 doesn’t help either way. The server&client are definately connected, because mouse input is clearly working. I can see mouse hovers and clicks happening on the server side. It seems like everything works except video…
