Client not starting on Windows 10

Hi, I’ve not been able to start the NoMachine client on Win10 recently, ie. clicking on the app doesn’t seem to do anything. Attempting to shutdown the server fails as well with the message “Authentication failed, NoMachine application cannot be closed.” I’ve tried uninstalling, delete .nx folder, delete nx user profile and then reinstall but this fails to resolve the issue. I can see there is a C:\Users\nx folder and C:\Users\sean\.nx folder. I’m attaching the server.log file from .nx folder. There are no other logs files in that directory. The registry entry is there are well. My details (Windows 10 22H2) NoMachine ver: 9.2.18

Hi. Can you please save the logs from Player Settings > Security of that computer and send them? Also, what antivirus software are you using?

It looks like I’m having the same issue where disabling WSL fixes the issue, ie stack dump when trying to access \\wsl.localhost\PIPE\  locations

Disabling WSL is not a solution for me.

I am attaching the log files from C:\ProgramData\NoMachine\var\log

I have also tried running the enterprise client. Same problem as well.

I noted under ~/.nx folder, there are lots of these folders.

Hi, this topic is similar to the one posted here https://forum.nomachine.com/topic/nomachine-main-ui-wont-open-on-windows. We have not been able to reproduce this issue with any of the multiple Windows systems with WSL enabled in our labs. It is likely due to a particular combination of tests and drivers that we have no way of verifying.  We are continuing to investigate, however, and we will update your topic with our findings.
