mclParticipantHi there,
I am wondering if someone would be able to help. I have a connection problem from Linux to Mac OS. I am running NoMachine 7.6.2 free version on a recent model iMac with Catalina, and also on a recent PC with latest Ubuntu 20.04, Gnome, and HDMI external display. Both computers are connected by ethernet through an internal university-based LAN. When I use Linux as server and connect to it from iMac, the connection is excellent stable fast and a pleasure to use. But when I do the opposite from Linux to iMac Catalina, logging in through my iMac account username and password, it connects briefly and then disconnects after about 0.5 seconds later. Both connection and disconnection are recorded on the iMac server screen one shortly after the other. I have tried turning off screen blanking and other hardware options, etc, on the server, and also tried logging in by private-public key, but I get no connection there at all; though for the latter I think perhaps I just do not know how to do it properly. If anyone might be able to help I would be grateful. I like this software and would consider upgrading to the paid version. Thank you.

CarinParticipantHi mcl,
Can you please send us server-side logs to help us with the investigation?
You may look at the instructions to collect the logs here: Collect server and client logs manuallyPlease send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure to add the title of the topic in the email subject. Thanks!

JethTranParticipantIn my case, rebooting the Mac and rebooting the Linux server does not offer assistance. This worked fine on El Capitan 10.11.4, but shows up broken in 10.11.5 Open Beta 1.
I can interface to the Linux server SMB offers from a Windows VM running on OS X, so I know the issue isn’t on the Linux side. Any thought what’s off-base, how to investigate the issue, or how to settle it?June 11, 2021 at 13:50 #34009
CarinParticipantHi JethTran,
The same applies to your case. We will also need server side logs to investigate. Please send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure to add the title of the topic in the email subject. Thanks!

mclParticipantI’m very sorry. I followed the instructions server side (iMac) to modify server.cfg and node.cfg and logged in again to the server on iMac from Linux, and there was no folder created (so no logs) /Library/Application Support/NoMachine
Is there something I am missing?
Thank you.

SteveParticipantHi mcl,
On MacOs logs are collected regardless of the LogLevel settings into the following folder :
/Library/Application Support/NoMachine/var/logPlease check whether you used the proper path to collect logs. Thanks!

fishermanModeratorWe would need additionally nx logs from the home folder.
you can easy create an archive and send it to use by executing following command:
sudo tar -cvzf macServerSideLogs.tar.gz /Library/Application\ Support/NoMachine/var/log $HOME/.nxor check our automatic log collection feature https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00182
You can get all needed logs by executing
/etc/NX/nxserver --debug --collect -
