I’m connecting from a Linux client (Ubuntu 14.4.02 to a Windows server (Windows 8.1), both are behind NAT routers.

Client and server runs NoMachine version 5.0.63.

After working flawlessly for about a minute, the connection to the remote machine just dies (dims it and have a spinning wheel)

Starting the connection again works initially without any problem – but then its a disconnect again.

I am suspecting that the connection is “flakey” – that it has a stable high throughput and then falls to a lower throughput and pending between these states for about 30 seconds being in each – at least that is what I have seen on transferring files between these machines.

I have not been able to capture a log for when its disconnected, but before it disconnected I captured one.

Any ideas on fixing this or what else I need to do?

    Hi,

does the spinning wheel stay forever? Or does the connection recover at some point if you wait?

To understand what is going on in this case, the session logs would be more useful than the statistics. Please find here the instructions on how to gather them: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098. You can send the logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

Yes, the wheel stops forever when it shows up. I did update the server side (5.1.7?) and the connection problems seems to now take longer time – perhaps updating the client side will help too, but its not “solved”. I added the server log (log.zip), and client side (nxdir.tar.gz)

    Hi Gurguff,

we checked the logs and they don’t seem to point to any bug in the software. The disconnections seem to actually happen because of some problem in your network.
