I’ve been using NoMachine for a long time with much success.

However, I switched laptops recently, and now I’m having nothing but trouble.

I’m using the Enterprise Client to connect to a Linux machine, this used to be rock solid, but now when I minimize the window to work on something else, the client randomly closes, and if it does stay up, it freezes when trying to re-activate (maximize) the window.

The new laptop is the same model as the previous one (Dell XPS13), just a little newer and beefier. I had the problem with Windows 10, and also once I updated to Windows 11.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I already did a reinstall of the client.

Hi. It’s very strange. We’ve never come across anything similar and we test with a variety of Windows versions, including version 11 of course, and configurations.

I suppose the graphic adapter and video drivers got updated too, when you updated, so we could check if these issues are related to the GPU rendering. When you connect to the remote desktop open the menu panel, enter Display / Settings / Advanced and check the box “Disable client side hardware decoding”, then verify your issues.

Would you like to collect logs on your Windows client and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? You can find the procedure in the following article:

Looks like that parameter change did the trick!

    Thanks much!!
