    Split from https://www.nomachine.com/forums/topic/someone-walk-me-through-key-based-authentication?view=all#post-10329

Original text: Found an old post and think I fixed that problem (the files PuTTY-gen makes are different, so it requires you to use the box output for the authorized file and to Export OpenSSH key under Conversions). I think I did it correctly, anyways, because it fails if I get the wrong passphrase.

Now I have a new problem though. When it tried to connect this way it spits out “Error is 22: Invalid argument”, and the session throws errors starting with “DaemonLogin/DaemonLogin: ERROR! Invalid reply ‘nx> 103 hello on board [user].’ context[D].”

I’d appreciate any help, and just in case I’ll attach the session log.

Still doing it as of 5.1.9, but now there’s a ticket for it (https://www.nomachine.com/TR03N06559) The ticket implies it to be because of capital letters in the username, and, in fact, mine is all-caps. Let me know if I can provide logs to help (I’d offer to try it on another computer, but all of them contain at least one capital letter I believe), and I’ll check back every once in a while.

Yes, we opened it yesterday after reproducing. You can use the ‘notify me’ box on the Trouble Report page to receive an email alert when the patch has been released.

Please update your software. The TR was fixed in 5.1.22.
