I’m running the latest NoMachine (5.3.10 Free) on local (MacOS 10.11.6) and remote (Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS running Unity). I’ve managed successfully in the past, but for some reason I can’t seem to get file transfer working in either direction.

On the OSX box, the titlebar menu (black NoMachine icon) contains only the lines: (Show the {connection status / whiteboard / recording bar / transfer status}; my three pre-defined connections; Browse connections…; and New connection…). In particular, I do NOT see “Send a file from the client” nor “Download a file from the server”.

On the Linux box, I do see those latter two options — but when I choose either one during the session, nothing happens. I’ve checked that the updates installed on both ends, and restarted the server on both ends — no joy. I also looked around the forums but find no mention of this.

Can anyone help me understand what stupid thing I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Hi Heywood,

have you taken a look at this? https://www.nomachine.com/sharing-files-between-computers

Once you’ve initiated the connection to the remote desktop, just follow the illustrated steps. I.e once you’re connected, click on the !M icon on the Ubuntu desktop and you will see the Send/Download file entries.

You can also drag and drop once you’re connected as well.
