For some reason I can’t figure out file transfers aren’t working anymore.  When I click “Send file from client” the screen just sits there and the file selection window never appears.  same story with downloading from the server.

    running Ubuntu Server 20.04

client is a macbook Pro running Catalina 10.15.6

    NoMachine v 6.11.2 both sides

firewall ports and UPnP settings are enabled

I can log on the remote machine just fine, but can’t transfer anything.  Any help MOST appreciated!

Hi. Please drag the file you want to transfer and drop it on the client’s window: is the transfer starting in this way?

No that doesn’t make any difference.  the pull-down file transfer menu is there and functions normally.  It’s just that no file selection window ever appears.  What’s weird is it was working fine…

No that doesn’t make any difference.

Do you mean the transfer doesn’t start when using drag&drop? That is an important information to know where to focus for troubleshooting your issue.
Additionally, can you select the “Show the menu panel” item in the tray menu and confirm that it opens the client configuration menu?
When the problem occurs, please pack logs in $HOME/.nx of both server and client and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Thanks.

Drag & drop doesn’t work either: no transfer is initiated.  “Show the menu panel” does open the client conf menu.  I think this is a problem with Catalina, similar if not the same as referenced here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR10Q09429  I think this because using Ubuntu 18.04 in Virtual Box the transfers work perfectly, so the problem doesn’t seem to be in NoMachine.  I’ve granted NoMachine full disk access, and I haven’t changed anything in the client firewall.  The transfers just stopped working.  I cleared the logs on both machines and re-initiated a transfer…here are those logs.

Can you send also the ‘session’ file from client logs please? If you don’t want to make it public, you can send it to our forum support e-mail.

I found the problem: for some reason Catalina did not have full disk access enabled for nxnode.  Once I did enable it file transfer is working again.  thanks for your help! 🙂
