    Folks,

First, just wanted to express my appreciation of NoMachine, which is a truly central part of my day-to-day workflow.  I find it to be vastly superior to other remote-work solutions, like [removed] and [removed].  Lucky for me, my org pays for license(s) to have NoMachine Server on the head nodes of their compute cluster.

But I wanted to report a bug which detracts somewhat from my general satisfaction with NoMachine, in the hopes that this bug gets some attention.

Problem: In macOS, the Hide menu item in the NoMachine pull-down menu does not work properly in NoMachine 8.4.2.

What it should do: Make all the NoMachine windows disappear (including fullscreen windows), and make the most-recently used non-hidden app the foreground app.

What it actually does: Make all the NoMachine windows disappear (including fullscreen windows), but NoMachine *continues to be the foreground app*.

The same bug affects use of the Command-H shortcut (maybe not surprisingly).

I think this might be related to this bug: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR12T10728

Any effort to fix this bug would be greatly appreciated by at least one user.

    Sincerely,

    Adam

Thanks for your comments and feedback 🙂

The TR you mentioned is something different.

Our app design consists in multiple processes handling the Dock integration and the remote desktop windows presentation, and there are some “minor inconveniences” like determining the previous application activation when NSWorkspace reports a hiding event. We’re investigating for ways to improve this behaviour.
