We just had an update to Windows 10 and I also updated NoMachine on the Windows computer. Now every single connection that I try and make from Windows 10 to Linux gives me the error, Error: Host key verification failed. Note that my two Linux boxes can connect to each other without any problems via NoMachine. This is all via the local network.

There is nothing in the C:\Users\my-username\.ssh or C:\Users\my-username\ssh folders. (And yes, I do have it showing hidden files and folders.)

I was able to connect successfully prior to the updates.

    Current Versions
    NoMachine v6.7.6 (Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.267)
    NoMachine v6.7.6 (Kubuntu 18.04, KDE Plasma v5.12.8, KDE Frameworks v5.44.0, Qt v5.9.5, Kernel v4.15.0-58-generic)

    Hi ozinfotech,

The update might be the cause of this problem – we therefore recommend to reinstall the NoMachine client on the Windows machine.

It would be useful to know more information about the authentication method you are using, which protocol, etc.

Could you also set in the Player’s preferences privacy the option “Don’t delete log files on exit”, reproduce the problem and send us the (zipped) .nx directory inside the home dir of the user ? You can send them to forum(at)nomachine(dot)com, making sure you reference the topic as subject.

Hello, I figured as much about the uninstall/reinstall. I had done that before your reply, but I did copy the .nx directory (prior to uninstall and reinstall) and send it  to the e-mail address you suggested.

And I forgot to mention I was using the NX protocol, port 4000.

    Hi ozinfotech,

Thank you for the logs! Can you tell me if the reinstallation helped ?

You are welcome for the logs. I hope they are able to help prevent problems with other people.

And yes, reinstallation helped. I had meant to advise you of that as the working solution. Thank you!
