I can connect fine to my Linux Mint Xfce 17.3 workstation as long as I’m already logged in to the user account on the Linux PC.
What I want to do is to be able to connect remotely to the PC after it has been rebooted, as it sits and waits for a user at the logon screen.
When I try to connect in this scenario I get “The session negotiation failed. Error: Cannot create session directory: /home/XXXXX/.nx. Permission denied”.
I am interpreting this to simply mean that the NoMachine daemon is not loaded prior to the logon (seems logical) and therefore a client trying to connect at this point has nothing to actually connect to.
So, how do I setup my Linux workstation so that I can get access at the logon screen?
Yes, I have searched, I couldn’t find anything in the forums. If you can, please reply with a link.
