Hi, I am using Ubuntu in a large organization in which I have write access only within my user’s home directory. So, can I install NoMachine under my home directory without using sudo? Thanks.

Are you referring to installing NoMachine on the server side under your home directory?

I asked this question because an older version of X-win32 crashes often on my machine, so I was thinking installing something else as a replacement. Without any answer to the question , I contacted X-win32 developer and got a reply immediately (in 6 hours, immediately compared to yours). Now I’ve installed a new version of X-win32 and it works very well. No need to install NoMachine any more.

I asked you a question to understand your needs better, but you didn’t reply anyway 🙂  The developers monitor the forums, but we can’t guarantee that you’ll get an answer within your desired time-frame. If you’ve been monitoring our other social channels, you will have noticed that NoMachine 6 is on its way, so they’ve been busy with other things.

Requests for information can also be submitted via the Contact Us form in the footer. Perhaps that’s more appropriate for you. We answer within 24 hours.
