I installed NoMachine 6.2.4_1 on my Windows 7 x64 machine to “D:\Software” and its data was in “C:\ProgramData\NoMachine” and every time I started the server it would immediately stop. I looked at the logs and it failed to read some files like “C:\ProgramData\NoMachine\var\db\ports” (which did not exist) and the server would just immediately exit.
I uninstalled and tried again and it failed again. (And it look an unusually long time during install saying it was “setting up my machine”.)
I uninstalled and installed it to “C:\Program Files (x86)” and everything works (\var\db\ports exists …). MUST it be installed on the same drive as the Programdata or is there some other reason for this?
Question #2:
I installed the client on my iPad to access my Windows 7 system. It works, but when watching video (TV) it is choppy. I decreased the display quality to the lowest, and forced the server to send 30FPS and it is better, but compared to Splashtop it isn’t smooth or the same quality. I tried forcing 30FPS with higher display quality but it is very choppy. Is that because NoMachine is VP8 and Splashtop is something else(264?)? Or are there other settings I can try? Is forcing 30FPS supported on iPad?
