I have pretty much the same problem like this forum poster in 2014.

My system is set to 10 bit color space via this guide. My monitor and desktop environment can handle it. The server is a regular 8 bit X.org setup.

Attached is a output of xdpyinfo. I don’t know what info you need, so you get the whole log.

NoMachine Free 7.10.1 on Arch Linux (client) and Manjaro Linux (server) on X.org. Happening on physical display connections, if you want to name it like this. Both using KDE Plasma 5.25.

Screenshot is in the new AVIF image format to save file size.

Hi, the attachments should be sent directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com for this reason your attempts to reply with attachments have not be published.

In any case, support for 10-bit color is not currently available and it’s not in our future roadmap.

This forum provides an upload for attachments, why should I e-mail attachments to the forum? And how would the forum know to which thread to add the attachments?

Concerning 10-bit color support: Maybe you should reconsider your roadmap as 10-bit displays in notebooks and modern monitors are becoming pretty usual these days, often even together with HDR. NoMachine should just allow to downsample a 10-bit desktop to 8-bit.

Yep, that’s definitely required and we are already in the process of developing this. What I wanted to say is that we don’t plan to  “natively” support “10-bit displays”.

why should I e-mail attachments to the forum?

Indeed, the forum does accept attachments, but on occasion they can get filtered out either for security reasons or sometimes because the file might be too big. Hence why I suggested to send the files directly to our email address so they could be uploaded manually. But you don’t need to now as we managed to recuperate them.
