I can’t upgrade, below are the commands and output.
Some history: I upgraded recently to free 4x and use it ok

NX> 162 Disabled service: nxd.October 12, 2015 at 08:48 #8642BritgirlKeymasterThe message says:
NoMachine Workstation appears to be installed on this host. Two

the same host. Be sure you uninstall NoMachine Workstation before
installing NoMachine. This means exactly that. You can’t install a free NoMachine package on top of a Workstation package already installed.
Did you try to update to version 5 using the automatic updates facility?
October 12, 2015 at 13:55 #8649unlimParticipantBut I didn’t install any Workstation.
When I have hav 3x then I go to ur site and download free 4x RPM for Linux64.
Could you pls tell me why do I have not free but Workstation?
And how to have free-version now?
October 14, 2015 at 11:44 #8689BritgirlKeymasterHmmm. Seems like a bug. If you only installed the free version (I thought you had followed my advice in another post and downloaded the Workstation) on top of the old free, then in theory it should install without any problems. We’ll look into this. For now, here’s a workaround:
1. Create file: sudo touch /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScript
2. Do the update again (NoMachine Free)
3. Remove the file:
sudo rm /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScriptOctober 16, 2015 at 11:08 #8699unlimParticipantAs I understand Workstation will be suspended after 1 mo, when free-version won’t?
I’d like my server not suspended…
October 16, 2015 at 11:14 #8707BritgirlKeymasterIf you want the virtual Linux desktop functionality, then you need to purchase a license for the Workstation. We provide the evaluation software on the website without download restrictions. If you are evaluating and need more time, please contact our sales team with your scenario details.
October 19, 2015 at 10:30 #8720unlimParticipantI’m not sure I understand you.
I’ve use free 3x and want to use free 4x-5x.
So I’ve download and upgrade server from free 3x to free 4x.
But now (when I try to upgrade server from 4x to 5x) your system wrote me that I use not free but Workstation. But I do not want workstation.
Could you pls specify exactly – what should I do now to get free not Workstation?October 19, 2015 at 10:47 #8739zaqParticipantHello,
In your case you shouldn’t get information about update blockade.
In the next release this bug will be fixed. Thank you for reporting it.
To do update you need:1. Create file:
sudo touch /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScript
2. Do the update again (NoMachine Free):
rpm -Uvh nomachine_5.0.43_1_x86_64.rpm
3. Remove the file:
sudo rm /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScript
October 20, 2015 at 08:41 #8765unlimParticipantThank you!
But – how can I check I use free-version not Workstation?
To be sure…
October 20, 2015 at 08:44 #8767BritgirlKeymasterHow to check which version of NoMachine or NX Server you are using
https://www.nomachine.com/AR07C00232October 23, 2015 at 08:19 #8791unlimParticipantI run:
# /usr/NX/bin/nxserver –version
NoMachine – Version 4.6.16# /usr/NX/bin/nxserver –subscription
NX> 621 You appear to run an unsubscribed product. Please visit
NX> 621 the NoMachine Web site at http://www.nomachine.com/
NX> 621 to acquire a valid subscription. So – what version am I use? Free or Workstation?
October 23, 2015 at 08:21 #8799BritgirlKeymasterYou have the free version of 4.6.16 installed: NoMachine – Version 4.6.16.
If it were the Workstation evaluation package it would say:
/usr/NX/bin/nxserver –version
NoMachine Workstation Evaluation – Version 4.6.16–subscription is telling you that you don’t have a subscription, which you don’t. You are using the free version.
October 26, 2015 at 09:29 #8806unlimParticipantI see.
Thank you!
