    Hi,

We are encountering a peculiar issue with NoMachine on an Ubuntu 22.04 system running NoMachine 8.15.3-1 (free version).

The NoMachine connection works perfectly; however, when the remote user disconnects, the local screen does not return to normal. Instead, it remains in the “blank screen” state that NoMachine sets. This behavior persists even after the NoMachine service is stopped. The only way to regain the local screen is by restarting the local session manager (lxdm) or rebooting the system.

The remote client is a Windows system using the latest NoMachine client (8.15).

The desktop environment on the Ubuntu 22.04 system is MATE.

Does anyone have ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Is the Ubuntu host using Wayland or X.Org? Logs would also be helpful from the Ubuntu machine. We recently discovered a bug that we have already fixed (but not released yet) and would like to check whether it’s the same issue. Follow the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243 (enable debug, reproduce, gather the logs). Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

The Ubuntu host is using X.Org. I will gather and send the logs as soon as possible.
