    Hi,

I’m hitting a strange issue where the keyboard and mouse input gets locked to a single window when running on a virtual display.  Sometimes the keyboard and mouse are stuck on different windows.

    – When running using a MacOS client it is possible to recover from this by clicking outside the window, then clicking back in the window, bringing up the page curl and then going back to the session.

    – When running using a Linux client there doesn’t appear to be a way out.  Logging into the server and restarting the window manager can sometimes give a temporary respite of maybe 10-15 seconds of usage before the same problem returns.  We’re running XFCE, but different window managers seem to survive differently – metacity gives about 10-15 seconds of life after a lock-up, xfwm locks up again almost immediately but shifts the focus around a bit.

I’m having trouble working out what causes this to occur – it can run fine for a few hours before this issue occurs.  Running 4.3.30 on both client and server, on both Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04.  MacOS client is under 10.10.1.

Has anyone else hit this issue?  The metacity different makes me hopeful changing window manager will have some effect – going to try different combinations.

    Hello,

I think identifying the applications grabbing the pointer and the keyboard could help.

Let me send you a library logging that information.

It seems to take some time to take effect.  I cleared out all the logs and restarted on Friday in the hope of hitting the issue, but nothing happened all day.  This morning it occurred repeatedly.  I’m generally running PyCharm when it happens, but that may just be because that is what I use the session for… when the input locks to a window it seems pretty random.

Happy run any debug versions – let me know!

Running KDE improves things a lot – of the three users we have running NoMachine only one has had an issue in the last few days.  They were running PyCharm when it happened.

    Hello,

have you upgraded to 4.4.1? Still suffering the problem?

In order to receive the debug library, write to issues (at) nomachine (dot) com.

    Please specify:

    • The NoMachine software version
    • If you need the build for Linux 32 or 64 bit.

I’ve the same problem here with Fedora 21/gnome 3, NoMachine 4.4.6_7 (free, 64bits), both client and server have the same (updated) OS and NoMachine version.

However, it seems that losing the keyboard occurs only when the client uses the fullscreen mode. Coming back to a frame restores the keyboard. Grabbing the keyboard has no effect.

    @baj

I never encountered this issue. Have you got any steps to reproduce?

Have you noticed whether any application waiting for user input were hidden under the NoMachine fullscreen window?
