ParticipantHi,
I have M2 mini server and M4 pro as client.
M2 is struggling with software encoding, tried enabling and disabling all options on server performance tab (as all the codecs and put 30fps), still software encoding…I’m attaching image taken from M4 client…
As you can see encoding software decoding hardware. Also, I’m attaching a sample of nxcodec.bin process from M2 server.
Any way of doing hardware encoding on m2?
Regards

KeymasterThanks for submitting the logs. We have checked them, and also reproduced. We are investigating further to see if it’s caused by a possible HW encoder limitation.

ParticipantHello
I’m on Windows connecting to M1Mac for remote dev, I have the same issue I think, Windows is hardware decoding, >Mac is software encoding, would this also affect m1 & fix it too ?
Thanks!

KeymasterHi, in some cases software encoding is used if the resolution is higher than full HD. This could be what is happening. But to be sure, are you able to send us the server-side logs so we can check them? Reproduce the problem, then extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT08U00298#1. Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

ParticipantHello
My resolution is like 5k, will you support bigger than HD resolutions for hardware one?
Thanks!
