Mac – Authentication failed, please try again

Hi,

I have set up NoMachine on my device and on a remote one. I can connect with it if I use the “request access as a guest for desktop sharing” but I am not able to connect using username/password.

I had some similar issues with Screen Sharing but it worked as soon as I disabled the “Remote management” option.

I have checked that my credentials are correct, I also tried to use username@macbook and so on.

What do I miss here?

Is ‘remote one ‘ mac based? If yes then let’s check how remote side recognize username/password.

Open terminal window on remote side and run command:

/Applications/NoMachine.app/Contents/Frameworks/bin/nxexec --auth

input username <enter>, then password <enter>

and check result please. If username is not local system user like ldap, AD and etc command nxexec might

run as sudo or root user.
