Mac client to Ubuntu Server keyboard woes

First off:

Client:    OSX 10.8.5
NoMachine free 4.1.29_5

Server:   Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server running XFCE desktop on a virtual display
NoMachine free 4.1.29_5

Me:        Headache installed

So, I can connect to the desktop, use the mouse, virtually no lag, all is well. However all keyboard inputs are crazy mixed up. I’ve tried to no avail:

dpkg-reconfigure console-dat 

dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

and setting the keyboard to Mac, US English Standard.

Could someone please enlighten me as to what I’m doing wrong?

Sorry for your headache, Jasonridesabike. We aren’t aware of keyboard on Mac being mixed up in Ubuntu. Are all the keys mixed up or just some? Would it be possible for you to send us the logs so we can take a look?
