I have the same issue as described here in March 2021.
https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/full-screen-mode-has-mac-menu-and-dock-covering-remote-desktop
Namely, the macOS menubar covers the virtual desktop when in fullscreen mode. It looks like this was a high priority feature request two years ago, is there a fix now?
My client is running macOS 13.2.1 (on Apple silicon) and my server is running Ubuntu 20.04.5 with a Cinnamon2d desktop environment. I am using NoMachine 8.4.2.
Thank you.

At one point I thought I found a setting in NoMachine to hide the toolbar on full screen, but I don’t seem to be able to find it anymore. Ideally you would support full screen natively via the third green button on the window which is currently implemented to zoom (see the NoMachine Zoom image attached) rather than full screen (see the Chrome FullScreen image attached).

March 15, 2023 at 08:24 #43392TomParticipantHi Wintermute,
I solved it in this way:
Pull down the Apple menu and go to “System Preferences”;
Choose “Dock & Menu Bar” preferences;
Uncheck “Automatically hide and show the menu bar in full screen” so it’s disabled.I don’t know if you are using two screens ?
For one monitor I set it to “In Full Screen Only” and open NoMachine Client.
For a dual monitor setup I set “On desktop only”.
To set NoMachine Client to full screen mode I use CRL+ALT+F keyboard shortcuts.
You can use page-peel or CTRL+ALT+0 to change NoMachine Client settings.Regards,

This is a workaround, not a solution, since you must change the setting for all applications, not just NoMachine. I prefer to have my menu bar visible when not in full screen mode and NoMachine should support the native MacOS full screen mode so it can follow the standard system settings.

Yes, that’s right, hiding the menu bar is a workaround. Supporting native macOS full screen mode is planned however. We have had other development priorities recently, and that’s why we’ve not been able to dedicate time on implementing support for it, but we working on making it available as soon as we can, in line with our other development commitments.
