Mix windows of different remote desktops

Can NoMachine connect to more remote servers (Windows, linux,…) and give the possibility to drag single windows to the main windows desktop, so that I have concentrated all windows of the local and all remote connections to one local desktop.

Perfect would be than more toolbars on the local desktop so I could operate all remote connections from one desktop.

So a kind of transparent overlay of all remote connections

Hi, it’s not quite clear what you would like to be able to do with NoMachine. NoMachine can, of course, connect to a mix of remote servers from one computer at the same time, each session being a single NoMachine window. These session windows can be connections to a full remote desktop or, in the case of Linux virtual desktop sessions (in NoMachine Terminal Server products) they can also be rootless sessions, what NoMachine calls ‘custom session’. In that case, the session window is of the single application e.g firefox.

Are you referring perhaps to rootless sessions?

So that we can understand better, could you explain in steps what your use-case of NoMachine would be?

No, I would like to have all remote desktops overlain (transparent desktop) seeing only the open windows and icons.

So I have one desktop with windows of the local and all remote machines in one kind of mix of more desktops.

So e.g. the Outlook window of local machine beside e.g. the xemacs windows of the linux remote machine.

So I don’t need to switch the desktops, no need of sharing screen(s) between desktops side by side

Is what you want like what is in the attached image?
In the image you can see:

1 x window of local Windows native browser
1 x NoMachine session window of Firefox browser (this is running on a remote server)

Yes, one local Windows session with some windows and 5-.. remote sessions with each 5-…windows

so typically in total 25-30 windows from about 5 different remote desktops all shown on the local Windows desktop

What you see in the image that I posted is Firefox session using NoMachine’s custom session on Linux. I.e connecting to a Linux desktop but requesting a rootless window or single application. This is a feature available in our Linux Terminal Server products by selecting ‘Create a new custom session’ and inserting the name of the application in the field ‘Run the following command’.

The products we offer for remote access to Windows/macOSgive you access to the physical desktop running there. It is not possible to access single applications.
