Mouse and keyboard not working

NoMachine Client 7.6.2 on Windows 10

NoMachine Server 7.6.2 on Ubuntu Linux 20.04 LTS

Both client and server on both ends are configured to NOT require approval for either connection or desktop interactions.

When I connect from the Ubuntu client to the Windows server the mouse and keyboard work correctly.

When I connect from the Windows client to the Ubuntu server the mouse and keyboard don’t appear to work at all. No mouse or keyboard input appears to reach the NoMachine desktop on the Linux server from the Windows client. I’ve glanced through the NoMachine server logs without seeing any obvious issues.

Ctrl-alt-0 on the client works. Scrolling the desktop on the server from the client works as does resizing the desktop. However, mouse and keyboard do not work.

I am hoping this is something easy and obvious I am missing since it should be a common use case and should just work.

Hello. Is it possible that screen image is frozen? I mean: mouse and keyboard event are correctly forwarded to the Linux host that reacts accordingly but you don’t see anything in the client window.

Is a monitor screen attached to the Linux host when you try to connect to it from remote?
