Hey everyone I am running Apple M1 Pro (Ventura). Just started using NoMachine having Ubuntu 20.04 as the server side. I am having an issue with the key mapping. As my mac keybinding is not working (cmd+s) inside NoMachine (ctrl+s). Let me know if is there any way to fix that.

Our current design supports keys 1:1, so if you want Control on the server-side, you have to press Control on the client as well. We’re currently evaluating ways to customize key bindings by mapping some pre-defined system shortcuts (like Command + C on Mac and Control + C on Windows).

The 1:1 mapping is based on the key position on the keyboard rather than the symbol on the key, right?
E.g. on my UK Mac, the top-left key is the “±§” key, and when I’m connected to my RedHat Linux remote machine, that key maps to the “~”, and of course lots of other keys such as “£” and “#” end up in the wrong place or simply unavailable. Is this because of the same issue as @Britgirl mentions above, or is it a different issue deserving a separate topic here?

stephenh, NoMachine simulates the press of physical keys by sending the physical key codes. If you have the §± symbol on your keyboard, these are the symbols that it will be possible to input with NoMachine. How they are translated to specific symbols depends on the remote system.

Can you open a new topic about the issue you are encountering making sure to state the versions of NoMachine (client and server side) and the version of Red Hat as well, language set in desktop environment etc, and details about the Mac computer you are connecting from (OS version, keyboard type, language etc)
