    Hi

I’m running a server (version 5.3.10) under Windows 10 and have the Linux enterprise client (version 5.3.10) under Ubuntu 16.10; the desktop is GNOME. Both server and client are the free versions.

Clicking on the Exception message I get “The server was unable to make the local display available or access to the local display is disabled.”

I’m unclear which device’s local display is referred to. Would you clarify please? I have a “Display” element in my client’s .nxs file which is set to “:0”.

Running nxserver –list returns an empty list.

According to the server UI the number of connected users is zero.

Any advice on where/how to address this would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Chris

Does your username or hostname contain non-latin symbols? If yes it could be the case: https://www.nomachine.com/TR12M06315. Until NoMachine version 6 comes out sessions of users with non-latin characters might not work correctly.

My username and password consist of ASCII characters.

Please enable debug on server side and restart nxserver. If you were able to reproduce problem collect all logs (nxclient from %USERPROFILE%\.nx and nxserver from %PROGRAMDATA%/NoMachine/var/log) from server side and nxplayer logs (/home/<username>/.nx) from client side. Please send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

More instructions about debug and collecting logs you can find there: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098#3.

    Hi

I’m not able to compress the server log folder via Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder. It looks like a permissions issue.

I can create a .zip or .7z file. Please confirm either of these okay.

    Regards

You need to have administrator rights to collect logs.

I can create a .zip or .7z file. Please confirm either of these okay.

    Yes, both are ok.

Since we never received the logs, what I suggest is you update to v6 and let us know if the problem persists. If it does, please open a new topic.
