When I connect via Physical Display to a CentOS7 machine running NM Server 8, it will always end up doing SW encoding/decoding to my MacOS (12.6.5) client. I’ve tried this both on a NM Server 8 running on CentOS7 and RockyOS9 but both end up forcing SW encoding/decoding when I connect via physical display.

But when I connect to a virtual desktop session, it will do HW encoding/decoding.

Is there anyway to do HW encoding/decoding when connecting to the server via Physical Display?

What video cards are on the server and player sides?

You can you send us the logs from both server and player sides of an affected session
