I have never met a virtual client that can truly configure multiple monitors in an ideal fashion.
I have a new Lenovo i7 laptop with lots of RAM and a powerful graphics card. The laptop sits in a docking station with many video ports. I have 2 Dell 1920×1200 monitors connected via the DVI ports. The laptop monitor is 1920×1080. The system is running Windows 7 and the display from Windows is extended across all 3 monitors. Windows/Lenovo doesn’t have a problem recognizing the monitors and their respective differences.
I would like to tell NoMachine 5.x that it should only use the Dell monitors and make them a single screen of 3840×1200 such that when I click on full screen, the desktop window fills the 2 Dells and there is no app frame showing. Presently, NoMachine doesn’t even recognize the monitors as being Dell or 1920×1200.
The only way I can do it right now is to have a NoMachine desktop configured for 3840×1180 and expand the window by hand to the corners across the 2 Dells. The top and bottom app frame still show. Clicking on Full Screen in the NoMachine menu sends the window into a frame frenzy, occupying a single Dell and becoming difficult to return to a useful state.
BTW, with the NoMachine desktop filling the 2 Dells, the laptop monitor remains available for Windows operations. Quite handy.

I kind of figured that was the answer.
Sometimes though, if you ask a programmer to do something they haven’t thought of yet, you might get a response like, “Sure, I can do that, I just didn’t know that’s what we needed.”
I know this because I have been that programmer more than once.
My ideal solution would be to provide a configuration file that details my setup; each line contains a description of a monitor. In an xml format the file could say which monitors should be used by NoMachine. NoMachine reads the config file and determines the best way to fill the screens. Trying to guess the hardware from the OS doesn’t seem to work well. NoMachine, ExceedOnDemand, VNC etc., all have a problem doing this.

That would probably help you, but please consider that editing an XML file couldn’t be a suitable solution for the majority of a few million NoMachine users that aren’t programmers 😉
In any case implementing what you are asking in a user-friendly way on all platforms is questionable.
