I have downloaded the latest NoMachine package on a Win7, Win8 and Ubuntu 12.04 PCs. I had previously used NXclient 3.5 on the Win7 and Ubuntu boxes. I am able to connect between Windows PCs and see the remote desktop but am unable to use the local mouse and keyboard to control the remote PC. I’m sure there is a setting I am missing but nothing I have found and tried makes any difference.
Also after installing NoMachine 4 on the Ubuntu PC I am no longer able to connect at all. The connection log on the Windows end shows “Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).”. Again there is a configuration setting I am missing. Connecting between Windows with NoMachine 4 to Ubuntu with NX 3.5 worked until I installed version 4 on Ubuntu.
Please point me in the right direction.

If they are not too big, you can submit them there, otherwise send to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. You will need to follow the instructions in the article here (first reproducing the problem) on how to enable and extract them.
https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00697January 29, 2014 at 15:22 #1985wifibeagleParticipantI have now loaded Nomachine on my 2 Win 7 PCs, 2 Win 8 PCs, 1 Ubuntu 12.04 and 1 Ubuntu10.04. The following are the results. In all cases access is on my local network.
From Darcymain Win7 to Homeserver8 Win8 – it works as expected
From Darcymain Win7 to AtticPC Win7 – The remote desktop is visible but no mouse or keyboard control
From Darcymain Win7 to HPbeagle Win8.1 – The remote desktop is visible but no mouse or keyboard control
From Darcymain Win7 to Ubuntu 10.04 or 12.04 – No visible desktop just a black screen, the local mouse pointer disappears as soon as it enters the black screen.
All the Windows boxes were loaded from the same file, nomachine_4.0.369_5.exe
The Ubuntu boxes were both loaded from nomachine_4.0.369_1_i386.deb (separate downloads).
The attached logs are from Darcymain. I have attempted to configure each machine the same although they may be different now after testing permutations. The NXClient 3.5 worked great between the Win7 and Ubuntu 12.04 PCs so I thought I would expand its use and upgrade to the latest version. It seems version 4 is not quite ready for prime time. I’m Ok with that for a free version. I hope your enterprise customers are faring better or there may never be a 4.1 version…
Within reason I am willing to use my environment for testing things if that will help.

January 29, 2014 at 23:47 #2018Dan25ParticipantIdeally, we need clients logs from Darcymain (R-*) when trying to connect to problematic servers, and also server side logs of problematic machines: AtticPC, HPbeagle and Ubuntu 10.04.

January 30, 2014 at 17:26 #2043wifibeagleParticipantOkay, I have set up the debug level repeated the troublesome connections and saved all the logs. I had to delete some records from the middle of the Darcymain nxerror.log to keep everything under 1024Kb. The deleted records were highly redundant and during times NoMachine was not in use. I can send the full log if it is necessary.
Today, unlike yesterday I could see the desktop of the Ubuntu PCs but still had no control.
I’ll check back to see if you need something else.
Thanks.
John
