ParticipantI upgrade only two host. My Linux client machine and the two remote machine. All the NoMachine 6.X host adn clients works audio and 8.X host and client also works audio perfectly. When I try to connect with nomachine 9 to any other no matter if are older or newer there is no sound

3273719 3273719 2025-06-14 12:40:49 298.861 ClientSession: Starting session at 0x20216fe0You should noted the line “AudioIoPulseaudioServer: Failed to get devices list.” is clear into your code its not to difficult to guess that in such case just report empty list so inside client the available devices will be “none”
I downgrade to 8.16 and client start to works. I already saved in each update for each OS in those cases. We have 3 weeks of several reports of fails in NoMachine 9
I hope this problem get solved cos NoMachine is more light and easy to use and provides several features now in v9. And the most important! NoMachine supports a wide variation of OS including older ones! Good one!

To help us diagnose this, please send us the detailed server-side and player-side logs from your case.
It should help us find what could be wrongly set by the application on your machine.You can find detailed instructions on how to gather them here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT08U00298. In the UI please set the level to 9.
Please send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure to reference the topic as the subject of the email.

ParticipantThere is no sense in your petition but I send both attached in this message.. both installed nomachine 9.0.188 client side has log level to 9.. server side makes no sense cos already sens the audio as must be cos i tested client side nomachine 6, 7, inclusive (with server side using 9.X ) and sound is working perfectly
No matter if you raise the level to 9 debug, the only log i found in session part of Client is:

ParticipantSame problems, two of my linux servers were updated to NoMachine version 9 in last day, all lost audio.
The others with version 8.16 still work normally.
All of them are Ubuntu 22.04 and Ubuntu 24.04, and use pulseaudio.July 28, 2025 at 04:02 #53853chrmcg
ParticipantHow are you all downgrading to 8.16? I’m having the same problem with NoMachine 9 but I don’t have a saved copy of the 8.16 installer.

ParticipantI used VenenuX repositories.. nomachine have several faults by dont store a older copy of the previus inmediate release.. if there is a problem (like now .. that seems its ignored by upstream) we can just downgrade. I never liked upgrading tendency.

Our download section always provides the most recent version for reasons explained in the article here: https://kb.nomachine.com/AR08C00250.
Our developers are currently working on a fix, the release of which should be in the next maintenance. We can of course provide an earlier version which is not affected until then. Please reach out to us through the website with your request and we will provide you with a private link to download.
