    Hello,

Have been battling last 4/5 hours to try and get some GUI environment to come up on a VMware instance where I have evaluation NoMachine Terminal server installed.  I don’t have “enterprise” product installed.

Have tried a number of different iterations of the “DefaultDesktopCommand” and “CommandStartGnome” – to no avail.

No docs here tell you what to put in these parameters.

The VM has “lightdm” window manager installed – couldnt get gnome to work either.

Could not really find any helpful docs on installing terminal server in a VM – what required to be configed in the VM, graphic wise, etc.

I can get “xterm” to fire up, lol.

    Any ideas?  Thanks

Follow up: adding “--disable-acceleration-check” to the 2 parameters worked — finally got gnome to show up

Glad to know you sorted the problem out. I added your follow-up to your original post.

On systems which NoMachine supports, with default system settings, commands in keys should work fine without editing. But If you have installed a desktop environment manually it might be necessary to change values in those keys.

This article deals with that 🙂
