I am using NoMachine for years to connect remotely to other systems I own. However, lately it just doesn’t work.
I am installing the [RPM](https://downloads.nomachine.com/download/?id=2) from their official website, runs fine for few times while I am setting it up, but the next day, when I try to start it, the icon in the task manager looks like it is trying to run for 2 seconds and then vanishes. Then only line that is written in journal is this:ignoring sourceSize request for image url that came from grabToImage
That’s it, no errors, nothing else.
If I reinstall it, it works again for couple of times and then fails again. Sometimes, this doesn’t work either.
Tried with older Kernels, but didn’t help.
Server works normally, although I am shutting it down onĀ my machine, I only want outbound connections.System:

journalctl
, it will help to verify if the client is segfaulting. Try to start it, then runjournalctl -r
and check if the processnxplayer.bin
was closed because of a segfault. Copy the line and paste it here in the thread.December 4, 2024 at 14:34 #50949lI_Simo_Hayha_IlParticipantHi Tor, thank you for your reply.
I just tried to run nomachine client and had the same behaviour.
However, there is nothing in the logs. Last entry related to nxplayer.bin is from two days ago.Dec 02 22:10:50 fedora systemd-coredump[132241]: Process 21327 (nxplayer.bin) of user 1000 terminated abnormally with signal 6/ABRT, processing...

Could you pack your
$HOME/.nx
folder and send it to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, please?December 5, 2024 at 12:12 #50974lI_Simo_Hayha_IlParticipantI could do that, but I don’t think there is some info there.
My .nx folder, contains 4 subfolders.
Config – empty
fonts – 31 fonts
temp – empty
nxegl with 11 log files, but the latest one is from 24th of November. All the log files, contain pretty much the same info:
nxeglInterposeInit: Output redirected to '/home/username/.nx/nxegl/2407.log'. nxeglInterposeInit: Executable at '/usr/bin/kwin_wayland'. eglGetPlatformDisplayEXT: Called with plaftorm '0x31d7' native_display '0x55be1fafcb00' attrib_list '(nil)'. eglGetPlatformDisplayEXT: Returning display '0x55be202163e0'.
December 5, 2024 at 19:19 #50977TorParticipantInteresting, process could not even create the logs directory. Please run the command
/usr/NX/bin/nxplayer --log stderr
in a terminal, let me know what you see there as output.December 6, 2024 at 09:19 #50978lI_Simo_Hayha_IlParticipantThe first time I tried to run it, I had no output for about 3 minutes. I canceled it (ctrl+C) and then I tried a second time:
