Hello,
I started using NoMachine to access virtual machines in my home lab. I have an issue: it suddenly “disconnects” and I can’t find a reason.
I can’t find a way to reproduce the issue, but this is how it usually goes:
- I am using the VM normally.
- The screen freezes, and I can move the mouse but I can’t click or type.
- A few seconds later it jumps back to the Debian login page.
Every time this occurs I lose everything I was working on because it logs me out, which closes every window.
I have tested if it disconnects because of a lack of resources (memory or CPU), but it doesn’t seem to be the reason. Both are close to each other, wired to the router, and in the same network. I wouldn’t say it’s connection issues.
There are two questions I’d like to make:
- Does anyone know anything I could try that would help me find the root cause?
- Is there a way to log into existing sessions using NoMachine, so that when I get logged out I don’t lose everything? It seems NoMachine logs out because it lost connection.
Details:
- Both are using NoMachine 8.6.1
- The client is a MacOS (latest)
- The server is Parrot OS (Debian 11)
