When I connect my Mac to Linux via NoMachine, the NoMachine window just displays a grey screen. The mouse still moved on the target Linux system, I just can’t see anything.

I tried connecting from the Linux to the Mac, and was able to see and manipulate the Mac fine from the Linux.

    Addition Notes:

    • They’re networked over USB4.
    • Both systems have their own monitors.
    • My Linux is Nobara 41 (Based on Fedora), running the non-Wayland GNOME.
    • My Linux has a Nvidia GeForce 1080.
    • My Mac is an Intel Mac, iMac Pro 2017, running Sequoia 15.3.1

I was mistaken in my previous post. I am using Wayland. Additionally, it appears they try to establish a connection, and eventually it’s dropped. As I see notifications on Linux saying your screen is being shared, and eventually saying it’s no longer being shared, followed by an immediate your screen is being shared.

I’m not sure if it was doing that before, or if it’s changed when I was tinkering to try and get it working. During this tinkering, I also noticed the screen share of the Linux from the Mac sometimes appeared white or black when starting it up.

    Hi Rhymer,

do you mean that the monitor attached to the server is turned on and you can see what is actually happening on the server screen, while the grey screen is being shown in the player window?

To investigate further, we would need to see the logs from the server. Please follow the instructions in https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243. You can send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
