I would prefer to use NoMachine only and then disable all Windows RDP services and access on my private/personal Windows 2012 R2 (Vers 6.3, build 9600) vps in the MS Azure cloud system.

On the server side, server status, it is not showing my external IP address in the available list under the heading “Use an IP from the list to connect to this desktop”.  (It only shows the local network IP address 10.0.0.0.7)

So when I try to connect to via my home desktop (Windows 10 vers 1803), I receive this timeout message:

A connection timeout has occurred while trying to connect to ‘99.999.999.99’ on port ‘20136’. The issue could either be caused by a networking problem, by a firewall or NAT blocking incoming traffic or by a wrong server address. Please verify your configuration and try again.

    Anyone come across this before?

It looks like you need to create an inbound rule in the Azure NAT firewall. Check out this article about which ports to open: https://www.nomachine.com/AR11L00827.

MS Azure instructions are here:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/nsg-quickstart-portal
