I’m using the free NoMachine 6.8.2 client for Mac to connect to either a Windows 10 server or an Ubuntu Linux server. Num Lock is on on the Mac. When I connect to the server, or disconnect and reconnect, typing on the Mac’s number pad has the effect of arrow keys. After I hit the “clear” key on the Mac, typing on the number pad sends numbers. This has nothing to do with the state of Num Lock on the server machine; in fact the Linux machine doesn’t have a Num Lock key because it doesn’t have a number pad. Since the same thing happens on both servers, I infer that the issue is what the client on the Mac sends to the server, so that the Windows and Linux version numbers are irrelevant.

Is there any way to configure NoMachine so that Num Lock is on when it connects?

As macOS hasn’t NumLock it is always considered in “off” state. When macOS client connects to the server the state of NumLock is synchronized with the client. There isn’t any configuration that can change such behavior.
