davide445ParticipantToday I relocated my workstation (dual boot Windows 10 / Linux) in a new office, but will use NoMachine to connect from home.
Under Windows being remote I can’t shut down when I’m not using it, but want the various components (i.e. disk and especially the two installed GPU) to go in sleep if not used.
Currently using AMD Ryzen Balanced power plan, the system never go in sleep, but this is correct? Can I recover from sleep connecting with NoMachine? I fear doing it since I often have problems recovering from sleep even using it locally.
If sleep is not allowed, currently the disks are set to sleep after 20min, and PCIe Link State Power Management is set as “Moderate power savings” so I suppose is not completely idling the GPU. Can I set it to Maximum Power Saving?
The min processor power state is 90%, can I lower it without problems?

kroyContributorAt this moment there is no way to wake up machine from sleep state by connecting with NoMachine, but there is the plan to implement such feature https://www.nomachine.com/FR09H02385. You can sign up to the ‘notify me’ in order to know when it has been implemented.
About changing power saving states – you can modify it. There are some benchmarks of Ryzen tests in general on Reddit (search for Ryzen 2nd Gen & Windows Power Plans: Benchmarks) which show that 90% minimum processor state, has a little performance improvement with the default Windows Balanced plan (5%) comparison, but this involves increasing idle temperatures and power consumption.

davide445ParticipantThanks @kory
And what about changing PCIe Link State Power Management to Maximum Power Saving?
This is concerning me more than CPU since I have two GPU for a total of about 350W power consumption at load, so I suppose this can be a main source of power savings. Not sure how will behave at Max Power Saving if I try to connect when they are in idle.

kroyContributorIt should not affect significantly on the NoMachine connection. You can check it out, but as it was said earlier sleep state should be disabled or you need to use some wake up utility.
