Problem of resolution NoMachine

Hello,

I installed the last version of NoMachine 4.2.15_16 on linux debian wheezy 7.4 and on my local desktop Windows 7. I can connect me to the Linux wheezy server but there is a problem of resolution. The resolution is 1024×768 in order to be 1920×1080.

I tried the differents display option using the page peel menu, but it’s not working, when i put fullscreen it’s only stretching the screen and it’s not confortable at all. I d like to have a true resolution on it.

When i connect me with rdp to the linux from my windows i have the good 1920×1080 resolution but no with NoMachine.

How i can fix that please, i ever tried to search in this forum and on google but i don’t find anything.

Have you enabled “Resize remote screen”?

Yes i enabled it but it ddn’t changed nothing, it’s staying in 1024×768. How i can force the display to 1920×1080, do i have to configure something on my local desktop or on the remote server ?

I was looking for a solution all the day yesterday but i didn’t found nothing. Resolution stucks at 1024 and its’ not confortable at all to work on.

If i try a normal rdp connexion from to the same server it display 1920×1080 but rdp is very slow, i would like to use nomachine.

Could you help me to fix this issue please.

I have the same problem when using the latest versions of NoMachine.  However, when using the client of NoMachine 4.0.346_1, the resolution of the host is maintained by using “keep original aspect” in the settings on the client side.  I tried all types of setting combinations in the client of the two latest versions, but could never get it to perform as well as the version I’ve named here.  My host does have the latest version of the software.  It’s only the client that needs to use the earlier one.

To do that go in the control panel on the server and change the resolution to whatever is listed. The client should resize accordingly.

On Linux we use the randr X extension to resize the display.

Try the following commands and include the output:

xrandr -q

xrandr -s 1920×1080

Be sure the “Fit to screen” button is unchecked on the bottom of the screen. It’s the first button of the row.

Fra81, the problem is in the control panel i have only 800×600 and 1024×768 resolutions. I i connect to the server with xrdp, i’m in 1980×1080.

I thinks there is a big bug, could you explain me how to fix that problem please.

fra81 yes i’m sure, i ever all tested and nothing works.

There is no bug if you are attaching to the physical display and those are the only resolutions supported by your video card drivers.

I assume the difference is that you are running virtual sessions when using xrdp. This is available in NoMachine in the Workstation product.

@barnoux:  I only have the 64-bit version of 4.0.346_1 DEB file.  I am connecting from one Ubuntu installation to another.  Your experience using Windows 7 as client might be quite different from my experience.  I think, however, NoMachine should maintain some archive copies of previous iterations of its software.  I just do not know where they are maintained or if the company would make them available upon request.
