Hi,
We installed NoMachine (online order version) on our Linux server for an access from a Windows desktop PC.
But the connection only worked once, right after installation. Since unable to connect,
the error message is: “waiting for desktop user to authorize your connection“.I think that to correct this problem, we must activate the option:
“don’t ask for the acceptance if the user is connected as a system user”.But I don’t know what is the command line to enter for this (at linux server level).
Can someone help me ?
Thanks

The “don’t ask for the acceptance if the user is connected as a system user” option can be activated/disactivated in two ways. Via the NoMachine server settings panel on the server side using the NoMachine UI (Security) or via the server.cfg file.
In the server.cfg look for the ‘PhysicalDesktopAccessNoAcceptance’ key. Uncomment it and add ‘system’ to the options. It should look like this:
#
# Enable, disable or restrict NX Server requesting authorization to
# the owner of the physical desktop to allow a different user to
# connect.
# [snip]

I transferred your solution to my colleague who recently has to manage the server. It works ! Thanks.
“online order version” – do you mean you are using one of the products from the Terminal Server family? Or something else?
In fact, I was meaning that the version of NoMachine installed on the server is not a graphic one.
May 15, 2023 at 16:30 #44241BritgirlKeymasterHi, I’m glad that the answer helped.
I was meaning that the version of NoMachine installed on the server is not a graphic one.
I’m still not sure what you mean, but nevermind. Should you have other questions, it helps for us to know what exact product(s) you installed. If you are not sure, the person in charge of the server can query can this by executing
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --version
from a terminal on the server.May 17, 2023 at 10:01 #44274DalilaParticipantHi,
I was meaning that the version of NoMachine installed on the server is not a graphic one.
In fact, it’s just a mistake. I confused the NoMachine for Linux and the NoMachine for Windows. Don’t worry !
Yes I have another question. 😉
We are two users who have to connect to the server via NoMachine. But when one of us is already
logged, if the other one connects she arrives directly in the session of the first one and cannot change to her account.
Do you know if it’s possible to fix this inconvenience ? and how ?
Thanks
DalilaMay 17, 2023 at 16:40 #44290BritgirlKeymasterDo these two users want to be able to connect to their own desktop at the same time? I.e., 2 users, each with their own Linux desktop?
May 17, 2023 at 16:52 #44291DalilaParticipantSorry, I guess that I was not clear enough.
In fact, we want to connect to the Linux server at the same time.
We both use NoMachine from our own desktop (Windows) to access the Linux server.
May 17, 2023 at 17:21 #44293BritgirlKeymasterIf each user must connect to their own Linux desktop at the same time i.e not connect to the same desktop, what you need is NoMachine Workstation for Linux.
https://www.nomachine.com/product&p=NoMachine%20Workstation
This product can create up to 4 “virtual Linux desktops”. A user that wants to connect should choose “virtual desktop session”.
Please also check the following articles for clarification about what you need:
