I’ve been reading posts about this issue from years ago but there doesn’t appear to be a permanent solution emerging?

    Windows (10) client 8.11.3
    Linux (Kubuntu) server 8.13.1-2

Windows Ease of Access/Keyboard/Use Sticky Keys is OFF yet 9/10 times when I switch between Windows virtual desktops (I run an NX session to a Linux remote in one of the desktops), on returning to the desktop with the Linux session running, the Windows key is often trapped, so things like entering a password in a lock screen results in a plethora of Winkey+[letter] things being opened. Going back to the first virtual desktop and doing the 5-spacebar-presses thing in the search bar disables this behaviour.

If I switch to another virtual desktop running an NX session to a remote Windows 10 machine, sticky keys are never active

Has this never been investigated in detail since to determine why Sticky Keys self-activate in some NX sessions?

    thanks

Hi. We could not find a way to reproduce the issue, and even if there are some similarities, it doesn’t appear to be the same problem discussed long ago in another forum post. I’ve some questions that will help with troubleshooting this issue.

    • What is the exact Windows 10 version, and how many virtual desktops do you use?
    • What Kubuntu version is installed on Linux?
    • Did I understand correctly, the Winkey stays pressed inside the Linux desktop only?
    • When you say “5-spacebar-presses”, what do you mean exactly? Are you setting the focus on the Windows taskbar search input and pressing space bar? Why 5 times? (sticky keys feature requires to press Shift 5 times, if I remember correctly, but that is something different)
    • Is going back to the first virtual desktop a needed condition, or any virtual desktop is good assuming that there is not a NoMachine window inside it?
    • Do you use keyboard grabbing in the NoMachine session?
    • Thank you for your patience, they’re many questions but we didn’t guess yet where the problem could be, so we need more information for the static analysis.
